We are currently accepting submissions for abstract at this meeting.
However, we would like to inform you of an extension to the submission period as below.

I’d like to introduce some special program which might be very interesting.
The Live Video session on Saturday is a new approach aimed at addressing the shortcomings that have been pointed out in live surgery,
such as: 1. Excessively long surgery time, 2. Inefficiency, 3. Limited visibility for only a small number of attendees to make close observations, 4. Challenges faced by operators performing surgery in unfamiliar or uncomfortable environments, making it difficult for the atendees to observe the optimal surgical process.
The new format involves approaching renowned operators in advance to film surgeries, enabling audiences and panelists to directly question and discuss with the operator while viewing the recorded surgical videos.

We believe it will be a highly informative session.
Simultaneous interpretation to English will be offered during the entire meeting.
This year, we will offer special invitation code which will enable you to register “free for all program”.

Given the exceptional quality of the already received abstracts, the scientific committee has made the decision to extend the abstract submission period by a week. We are anticipating a substantial volume of high-calibre research. You can submit multiple abstracts, as they have the chance to be chosen for either an oral free communication presentation or an e-poster.

Global Forum on Skin Appendage Disorders – 5-7 October 2023 in Sorrento, Italy – First Announcement

It is with great pleasure that we herewith enclose the First Announcement of the 1st edition of “Global Forum on Skin Appendage Disorders”, being held 5-7 October 2023 in Sorrento, Italy.

The Congress will be focused on diagnosis and medical, cosmetic and surgical treatment of hair, nail and skin gland diseases and partnered with Skin Appendage Disorders, a Karger Journal that is specifically dedicated to research on skin appendages.

Delegates and contributors from throughout all continents will be attending the Global Forum on Skin Appendage Disorders, which will include outstanding Keynote talks, Oral presentations, Poster shows and Exhibitions.

The Congress will develop a scientific panel at a high level, with the involvement of some of the greatest experts of the sector. The international faculty will present clinically relevant information, immediately useful in the care of patients.

Dear Sir/Madam,

On behalf of the EADV Honours and Awards Committee, under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Milos Nikolic, we are pleased to offer several scholarship opportunities granting a 1000 EUR travel stipend, a waived registration fee for the 2023 Spring Symposium, and a free EADV membership for the year 2024, according to the status of each recipient. This opportunity is open to practicing dermatologists and venereologists, residents/trainees, and scientists in the field, under the age of 40.

The Imrich Sarkany Non-European Memorial Scholarship is open to applicants working in:
The scholarship will be awarded to a maximum of twelve (12) young dermato-venereologists from non-European countries.

Criteria for Scholarship Applications

Must be a Resident/Trainee, a Specialist, or a Scientist in Dermatology and/or Venereology under 40 years of age (at the time of the application)
Must not have previously received one of the following EADV Scholarships: Michael Hornstein, John Stratigos and/or Imrich Sarkany Non-European Memorial Scholarships
Must have adequate knowledge of the English language

Requirements

A complete Scholarship Application Form
A recent CV (not more than 3 pages)
A list of publications written in compliance with the below document:
How to prepare your list of publications (We advise interested candidates to carefully read the document as a new template and scoring system has been applied)
A letter of support, written either by the training director/ head of department, hospital or clinic endorsing the applicant. The letter must be signed and stamped and written on the official organisation letterhead.
An updated copy of the applicant’s training certificate in English, indicating the start and end date of residency OR specialist certificate (or a letter from the national society confirming one of these statuses)
A copy of the ID (identity card or passport)
A passport-size photo

Dear friends and members of DSS,

Welcome to our 34th Dermatological Society of Singapore Annual Scientific Meeting.

For the last 2 years, efforts to hold in-person meetings globally has been challenging in light of the COVID pandemic. It is with pleasure that we announce that this year’s annual meeting will be in hybrid format. It would be held from the 22nd to 24th July and attendees would have the opportunity of attending in person at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront or virtually.

This year’s theme – Conquering challenging dermatoses, brings together many local and overseas key opinion leaders as they share their insights and experiences in treating difficult and challenging skin conditions. We are also privileged to have Prof Mark Lebwohl as our distinguished speaker for the Chan Heng Leong memorial lecture and an exciting pre-ASM virtual dermoscopy workshop is also planned.

As we celebrate 50th anniversary of DSS, let’s come together to learn, share, and reconnect!

ILDS Opportunities Update

We have two exciting opportunities to share with you.

1. We invite you to join us for the IFD Migrant Health Dermatology Summit
This is hybrid meeting in Malta on Friday 13 and Saturday 14 May. It is a fantastic opportunity to meet other dermatologists and health professionals, learn about the latest developments, and develop best practice for dermatological care for migrant groups.
The event is free to attend (see below for location and accommodation details for those attending in person).

The broad aims of this meeting are to develop dermatological solutions to the skin health needs of migrants, displaced people and refugees by:
Determining how dermatologists can support health professionals dealing with migrants’ health in different settings, such as reception centres and refugee camps, as well as during outreach activities in migrants’ communities
Building collaborations with NGOs, UN agencies and governments in addressing migrants’ health needs related to skin disease and sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
Developing guidelines and a curriculum of dermatological training for frontline health workers working with migrant groups
Facilitating and encouraging opportunities for dermatologists, migrant health specialists and frontline health workers to educate and learn from each other
Raising awareness of the challenges we currently face and sharing best practice

The main sessions will be from 16:00 - 19:00 on Friday 13 May and from 09:00 - 13:30 Saturday (all timings Central European Summer Time).
For those attending in person there will also be an optional dinner on Friday and Saturday and a choice of workshops following the networking lunch on Saturday.

The event takes place at the Salini Resort Hotel, Salina Bay Malta, around 8 miles (13 km) from Valetta and Malta International Airport. Accommodation is also available at the venue and we have negotiated a discounted rate for Summit participants - please ask for details of how to book.

The event is free to attend but we regret we cannot cover the cost of flights or accommodation for participants.

2. Take part in the GLODERM Mentorship Programme
The GLODERM Mentorship Programme is focussed on global health dermatology leadership training, as opposed to clinical skills mentorship. The programme will include a yearlong virtual leadership curriculum and a one-month in person placement with their mentor. The Mentorship Programme aims to develop a network of Mentees who will support each other as they build programmes, start initiatives, and improve access to skin health services globally!

In addition, mentees will receive:
Global health dermatology leadership training
Global community of mentor-mentee pairs
Advice and guidance about how to set up global health initiatives

The Programme is open to residents and practicing dermatologists but unfortunately not to medical students.

We also invite you to join our growing community of mentors. By signing on to be part of our Mentor pool, this does not mean you will have a Mentee every year. It is intended that there will also be opportunities for training and skills development for our Mentors, as well as the opportunity to connect and network with other Mentors and the GLODERM Leadership Team. Whilst there is no financial incentive to be a Mentor, we hope you agree that the importance of giving back to our field and training our next generation is invaluable.

The EADV Honours and Awards Committee, under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Milos Nikolic, offers to young dermato-venereologists or resident/trainees under 35 years of age scholarships consisting of free registration to the 31ST EADV Congress and a travel stipend of EUR 1000, minus the fee of a one-year EADV membership (for the 2023 calendar year) according to the status of each recipient.
Applicants working in Non-European Countries are eligible to apply for the Imrich Sarkany Non-European Memorial Scholarship.
Applicants working in: Algeria; Egypt; Libya; Morocco; Tunisia; Cyprus; Israel; Lebanon; Palestine; Syria; Turkey; must apply for the John Stratigos Memorial scholarship.

EADV will offer the Imrich Sarkany Non-European Memorial Scholarship to a maximum of twelve (12) young dermato-venereologists from non-European countries.

Sri Lanka College of Dermatologists (SLCD) will be hosting the 2nd International Conference on Tropical Dermatology from 13th - 15th August 2020 at the Galadari Hotel, Colombo, Sri Lanka. The theme for the conference will be “Many faces of Tropical Dermatology across the globe”.
In keeping with the theme the conference will serve as a forum to discuss issues regarding dermatological conditions specific to the tropical region, with more than 30 experts representing 14 countries across the globe as resource persons.
